All of us over here at Gritty Soul and I Love Old School Music watched this video of Epic Records’ rap artist, Bobby Shmurda. This brotha is presenting his songs to a conference room full of conservative, suit and tie attired Epic Record execs. Sounds harmless enough, doesn’t it? Well after we watched it, we couldn't imagine Smokey Robinson or The Supremes doing this for Berry Gordy and the rest of the Motown staff! There’s NO WAY we would have ever heard from ANY of them had they done so!

I hear something in the lyrics about “act a fool.” That’s clearly what he was doing and maybe that was his aim. If you don’t like it, don’t listen. He’s not out robbing and peddling. And don’t act like there wasn’t any acts, acting fools of themselves back in the day. Remember Parliament / Funkadelic? Although they DID jam.
This was degrading and stupid jumping on that table like a monkey ,clearly he has not been brought up to see how presentation of one’s self and the talent that one has is important when showing others what you do.
